What's New

Our latest update of the Be U app helps us to detect any unusual or suspicious apps that might have been installed in your mobile device from sources outside of the official app stores. These new features are designed to keep your device safe and your personal info secured.

Here's how:

• Stopping Hackers: If anyone tries to tamper with the app or break-in, Be U will block them immediately.
• Protecting Your Data: Your info, like passwords and bank details, stays hidden and secure.
• Silent Protection: You won’t notice it working, but protection is always on, providing peace of mind.

Extra Layers of Protection

• App Bug Monitoring: Checks for bugs or vulnerabilities that hackers might try to exploit, stopping attacks before they start.
• Fake Device Detection: If someone tries to run your app on an emulator (a fake environment), we block it, keeping your app and data secure.
• Device Compromised Detection: If your phone is infected by a malicious app, the threats will be isolated and keep your sensitive data safe.
• Jailbroken/Rooted Device Protection: Detects risky devices and limits the app’s functionality or blocks access to protect your data.

Here’s How You Can Keep Your Device Secured

1. Update Your Device Operating System (OS)

Keeping your phone’s operating system (OS) up-to-date is like going for a health check-up. Updating your OS can help your device run better.

To check if your phone is running on the latest OS, go to your device’s settings, look for 'Software Update,' and follow the instructions provided. This simple step can make a big difference to your mobile device’s security and performance.

2. Remove Jailbreak from Your Mobile Device

If your phone has been modified (jailbroken), we advise you to restore it to its original state. Jailbreaking can expose your phone to security threats. Restoring your phone to its original settings will help you protect it.

You can find this option in your phone’s settings under 'Reset' or 'Restore'. Bear in mind, you might lose everything saved locally on your phone, like your pictures, videos, and contacts. So, make sure you have backups of your information before resetting your mobile device.

3. Check for Unfamiliar Apps

Take this opportunity to go through your apps and delete any that seem suspicious or that you don't remember installing. These apps might be harmful and could compromise your security.

To do this, go to your device's app management section, review the list of installed apps, and uninstall any apps that you don't recognize. Think of it as spring cleaning for your mobile device! It'll be much “lighter”, and performance will run smoother.

Make sure your app and device’s operating systems are running on their latest versions. It’s a small step that can make a big difference in your digital banking security!

4. USB Debugging

USB debugging on the Android phone can do things like transfer files or run an app. It is helpful for developers to do backend work, but it is risky. Be U blocks it because it could make your personal financial information vulnerable to hackers.

If you're experiencing app crashes, particularly as an Android user, disabling USB debugging might be the solution. You may follow these steps:

Bonus Tips for Your Protection:

• Only consider information from Be U’s official platforms i.e., Be U app, Be U official website, and Be U’s official social media accounts.
• Never click on any fraudulent and suspicious links in messages or emails disguised as Be U. Remember, we won’t share any clickable hyperlinks in our emails or messages.
• Avoid sharing your Be U login credentials and choosing your Be U passcode that is related to your personal information, like your phone number.
• Update your Be U profile information whenever you change your contact details such as phone number. This is to ensure you stay reachable to receive notifications for your Be U banking activities.
